A large glass vase that holds its own without decoration: wide enough to carry a single branch or a loose arrangement of stems, calm enough to sit on a shelf doing nothing but hold the light.
Blown glass with vertical stripe detailing and frosted panel accents. The wide mouth and generous diameter make it as much a display bowl as a vase; it works for low, open arrangements or standing tall with longer stems. Clear and frosted glass in combination catches and diffuses light differently across the day. At 18 cm tall and 20 cm across, it takes up space with intention.
Attributed to Swedish production of the 1960s, a period when Scandinavian glass design achieved international recognition for its restraint and material honesty. Swedish glassworks of this era, centred on the Småland region (home to Kosta, Orrefors, and a constellation of smaller houses), produced blown glass in the Modernist idiom that valued form over ornament. This piece carries the marks of that tradition.
