A Gnutti moka that arrives already at home on the hob — the object before coffee became a lifestyle, when function was the only brief.
Six-cup stainless steel stovetop moka from Italy, 1980s. Silver throughout, with the considered proportions of the Brescia metalworking tradition. Bottom diameter 7.5 cm, height 22.5 cm, weight 750 g. Not suitable for induction hobs. The rubber gasket is original and has not been replaced — correct for a piece held for its rarity. Light staining visible on the interior water reservoir, consistent with years of regular use.
Gnutti is a name rooted in the Brescia metalworking district — one of Italy’s most concentrated zones of stainless steel production since the postwar era. The household line produced under the Gnutti name in the 1970s and 1980s is now rarely found intact, making the heirs of that production significant as objects of Italian industrial and domestic design.
