Ginori 1735 Ancona Serving Dish

A wide porcelain dish that holds its place at the table without trying, the Ancona’s softly scalloped rim catching the light and the raised swirl relief making the surface something to look at even when empty.

Cast from pure white porcelain with a relief pattern moulded directly into the body. The swirl detail runs across the surface with quiet precision. Scalloped edges break the outline and create gentle shadow lines as the light shifts across the table. At 30.5 cm, the dish is the right scale for a main course, a generous antipasto, or a centrepiece arrangement. The form is entirely clean, with no applied decoration and no painted detail; the structure does the work.

Richard Ginori was founded in Sesto Fiorentino, Tuscany, in 1735, making it one of Europe’s oldest continuous porcelain houses. The manufactory built its reputation on high-quality hard-paste porcelain and a succession of house patterns that balanced classical restraint with Italian craft sensibility. Acquired by Kering in 2013 and relaunched as Ginori 1735, the house continues to produce from the same Florentine tradition. The Ancona pattern belongs to the 2000s production run, a modern expression of the blank-canvas design language the house has always returned to.
