A pair of antique Tuscan shoe lasts that found their best use long after the workshop closed. Set on a shelf, a windowsill, or beside a bed, they carry the weight of real craft without asking for attention.
Turned from solid wood in the Tuscan artisan tradition. The form is precise: a child’s foot captured in timber, with the gentle taper of the toe and the heel block shaped for lasting. The patina has deepened across a century of use: the surface has softened, the grain has opened, and the colour has settled into that particular brown that only comes with time. Sold as a pair.
Tuscan shoe last production centred on Pescia and the broader Arno valley, where small workshops turned lasts on wooden lathes and finished them for use rather than display. This pair dates to the 1920s–1930s: Art Deco-era craft, made when the trade was still entirely by hand.
